-Highlighted 5 areas of gratifications used by audiences.
1. Escape- escape reality
2. Social interaction- create personal relationships with chracters or to create conversation/ Common ground in real world;
3. Identify- see themselves in circumstance or character. Give role models.
4. Inform & educate- gain an understanding of the world; surveilance.
5. Entertain- pure entertainment and nothing else.
