Target Audience Research.

We chose as a group to make some questionnaires and then hand them out to people our age and to the older generation so that we were able to see what each of them liked and didn't like to help us be able to appeal to both of the audiences.

Surprisingly we found that every one bar 3 chose indie rock and every one 31+ plus chose indie rock. This instantly shows us that this is a popular genre to the younger and older generation. This should hopefully mean that the music video we create is able to appeal to them both. we found in the research that they are fond of this genre because of the lyrics and the melody. On a hole they all prefer narrative and performance based music videos. Only one chose it to be upbeat.

The questionnaires show that people especially females are sick of seeing women being objectified and exploited on their televisions so we are going to avoid this.

After all the research that we have done we have found that some of our ideas did not appeal to the audience so we discussed and went over our original ideas to see what we can change to appeal to both of the audiences. As we found that they preferred it to have a narrative we have decided to have a more conceptual music video as ours was more conjunctive with just showing the band and people partying but now if we story bored it a bit more with a narrative then hopefully it will have a greater success. We then went on to discuss about filming in separate rooms and having different themes in different rooms say Alice in wonderland and a 80's theme in another.
